This privacy policy explains how REDSPEED RIDER LTD (referred to as "we", "us", "our", "the Company") collects, uses and protects information about you when you use our website at redspeedrider.co.uk or our man-with-a-van and removals services.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum personal data required to provide our services and run our website:

  • Contact information you provide via our quote form, email, phone or WhatsApp: name, phone number, email address, pickup and drop-off addresses, description of items to be moved.
  • Service details: the date and details of any move you book, payment confirmation references.
  • Technical data: IP address (used by Cloudflare for security and CDN delivery), browser type, device type, pages visited and the time of visit.

3. Why We Collect It (Lawful Basis)

  • Performance of contract (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)): to provide a quote, schedule a move, and complete the service you booked.
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): to keep our website secure (via Cloudflare's logging and DDoS protection) and to respond to enquiries.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): to retain financial records required by HMRC for tax purposes.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): where you specifically opt in (e.g. accepting non-essential cookies).

4. How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Quote enquiries that didn't lead to a booking: 6 months, then deleted.
  • Booking records: 7 years from the end of the tax year, in line with HMRC requirements.
  • Cloudflare logs (IP, traffic data): rolling 30 days, then auto-deleted by Cloudflare.

5. Who We Share It With

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for marketing. We only share with:

  • Cloudflare, Inc.: our website security and CDN provider, processes IP and request logs.
  • GitHub, Inc.: hosts our website (GitHub Pages).
  • Our accountants: for HMRC and bookkeeping, only data legally required.
  • HMRC and other UK authorities: only if required by law.

6. International Transfers

Cloudflare and GitHub are US-based companies. They process data under appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the UK ICO and EU Commission, plus the UK-US Data Bridge under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).

7. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold on you.
  • Rectify data that is inaccurate.
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten") where there is no legal reason to keep it.
  • Restrict how we use your data.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Data portability: receive a copy in a machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

9. Security

We protect your data through HTTPS encryption everywhere, server-side security headers (HSTS, CSP), and Cloudflare's enterprise DDoS protection. We do not store payment card details: payments go directly through Stripe or bank transfer.

We may update this policy occasionally to reflect changes to our services or the law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page tells you when. Significant changes will be highlighted on our homepage.
